Biography of Alan Couch
Allan Couch (trumpet), a graduate of San Francisco State College and
Boston University, recently retired from the Cleveland Orchestra after
thirty years in the brass department of that organization. Since then he
has resumed the life of a free-lance musician, appearing with the Cleveland
Jazz Orchestra, the Cleveland Pops, the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, and now
the Heritage Brass Quintet. Mr. Couch teaches at Cleveland State
University, where he has been on the faculty since 1986. Allan and his wife
Joanne, a soprano, perform as the trumpet-soprano duo, Bright Seraphim.
